2017 Scout Popcorn Sale

Hey, everybody! Guess what?

It's POPCORN TIME!!!

The annual scout popcorn sale begins Saturday September 16th and ends October 30th (when all forms and money is due).

Our fundraiser comes up fast at the beginning of the scouting year and you may have a few questions. Hopefully, this post will answer them.

Q: Why do scouts sell popcorn?
A: We sell popcorn to help pay for the cost of running the pack and the fun events we do.
Money raised during the popcorn sale helps to pay for the fall and spring camp outs, patches
and awards given to scouts, Pinewood Derby, the annual Blue and Gold ceremony, and more!

Q: What other incentives are offered to scouts for selling popcorn?
A: There are LOTS of incentives for scouts to sell popcorn!
                 - if your scout can sell $100 worth of popcorn by the fall camp out on Sept. 23rd, they
get to throw water balloons at our fearless Cub Master at camp.

                 - for every $100 sold, your scout gets entered into a raffle for special prizes at the end
of the sale. The more you sell, the more entries you get.

                - if your scout sells $350 of popcorn your dues for the year are paid in full (Dues are
in addition to the registration fee you have already paid)

                - if your scout sells $550 of popcorn the pack will for registration to the fun scouting event
of your choice. Some examples include: Clippers sleepover, Crew sleepover,
Thunderbase 2018, and there are many more

                - And there are even MORE prizes available. All scouts who sell will receive a patch for
their uniform. There is a prize sheet attached to your popcorn sale order form with prize
points starting at just $75 worth of popcorn sold.

Q: Do we have to go door to door?
A:  No! We offer online sales (please see popcorn coordinator Lynn Eshelman for details), and
group sale dates at stores like Weilands. Scouts that do sell door to door are encouraged to
sell  to people they know and to always have an adult with them.
Remember, scouts are neat, courteous, and kind. Wear your uniform to sell and show
people what it means to be a scout!

Q: How and when do people pay for the popcorn they order?
A: People can pay either when they place their order or when popcorn is delivered - cash or
checks made out to Pack 74. Please note that your family is responsible for all popcorn taken
from the popcorn room and it MUST be paid for or returned no later than
         October  30.

Q: How do I get the popcorn?
A: The popcorn room will be open every Monday night from 6-8pm through the end of the
sale. Bring your order form and pick up the popcorn you have sold for quick delivery.
Some scout families prefer to take popcorn to "show and sell" - meaning you hand it to
them when they order it. Just remember, your family is responsible for all popcorn taken
from the popcorn room and it MUST be paid for or returned no later than
          October  30.

Please contact Lynn Eshleman (lamaf14@yahoo.com or 614-271-0775) with any other questions you may have - and happy selling!
