Popcorn Sale

Hey Everybody! Guess what?



You guessed it! It's popcorn sale time!

Our pack officially kicked off popcorn season this past Monday.  Duane (our popcorn kernel) and Lynn (our assistant kernel) visited dens to quickly explain the sale and hand out order forms.


If your scout did not receive an order form, you can pick one up on Monday or at this weekend's campout.

Here are some important things to know about the sale:
  1. If your scout sells $330 worth of product, their dues for the year are paid in full
  2. If your scout sells $500 worth of product, they will be invited to a popcorn seller pizza party held before a pack meeting
  3. If your scout sells $500 worth of product AND the pack reaches their goal of $14,000 in sales your scout will be invited to a special popcorn seller event (planning on indoor rock climbing)
  4. If your scout sells $1,500 worth of product, your scout will be part of a Columbus Blue Jackets Experience in March
  5. All scouts who sell will receive a special patch and scouts who sell at least $125 of product will earn additional prizes.
You may have some questions about exactly how the sale will run. Hopefully the information below will answer your questions.

When do we/customers get the popcorn?
There are two basic ways to sell popcorn - by taking orders, then delivering the product, or by "show and sell."
    Taking orders - Customers look at the brochure to decide what popcorn they would like and fill out a line on the order form. Money can be collected at this time or at delivery. Duane and/or Lynn will be in the popcorn room each Monday night from 6:30 - 8:30 (ish). You can pick up the popcorn you need to fill orders at this time and turn in any money you have collected.
    Show and Sell - Some scouts prefer to take a selection of popcorn with them each week so that customers can receive product immediately. Unsold popcorn taken by the scout MUST be returned or paid for by the end of the sale.

Can my scout sell online? - YES! If you are interested in your scout having an online component to their selling, please contact Duane or Lynn via email (duanew1970@yahoo.com or lamaf14@yahoo.com), or talk to them in the popcorn room. It is a very quick process to set up online sale for your scout. All that is needed is your scout's name and your email address.

When does money and/or unsold product have to be turned in?  - We are asking all scouts to have their money turned in and unsold product returned by NOVEMBER 1st!!! 

Who do customers make checks out to? - Checks can be made to "Pack 74"

What happens when the sale is over?  - Duane and Lynn will tally the orders and contact your scout to see which prize/prizes they would like to receive. This typically happens at the November pack meeting. Prizes are typically handed out during the January or February pack meeting.
